How Many Hours Are Really In A Day? http://t.co/y21nIU4
The “fact” that there are 24 hours in a day is no more true than the existence of the mythical Kraken. Do you really think you have 24 hours? If you do you are probably wasting a whole lot of time you could be using far more productively.
We all have the same 24 hours in a day. Why do some people seem to get so much more done? Please share your tips and tricks for managing your time and organizing your day…or, if you struggle to stay organized, tell us about it!
I am going to blow your mind. We, at least I, don’t have 24 hours in a day. I have about 7.5 hours to get everything done I need to in that day to ensure income generation. So what do I do?
First, I demand that the 7.5 hours is all I have. Second, prioritize the most important things first and give myself impossibly short deadlines to get them done (amazingly, they get done). Third, I limit time sucks, email twice per day, voicemail once per day, snail mail once per week.
I use e.ggtimer.com to keep me focused on completion, I use evernote to make time-sucking routine tasks fast. I use remember the milk to schedule my tasks and keep my top priority the focus of my efforts. Once I stopped thinking I had 24 hours in a day, I really starting getting things done.
Crazy right. Well I am a little off. As a frame of reference, I am an elected official, I sit on the board of directors (an officer) of a large non-profit, I am an adjunct professor teaching two sections and service my clients on a daily basis. Oh, and I have two kids in school, playing three sports combined and one of them starting her one leadership club which she has volunteered me to mentor!
What is you mind set? Is it keeping you from being as successful and productive as you can be?
